Bihar: PDS systems in four districts
Patna, Aug 9: Bihar government has decided to launch pilot projects in four districts with a view to strengthen the Public Distribution System (PDS) in the state.
State food and civil supply secretary Tripurari Saran said on Friday, Aug 9 that the decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
''The Chief Minister has directed the officers to review the lacunae in delivery of food grains through ration and kerosene coupons at public distribution system centres'' he said.
After successful implementation of the projects, it would be executed throughout the state, Mr Saran said, adding the new system would check the black marketing of food grains and kerosene oil to a great extent.
