District civil surgeon arrested for taking bribe
Begusarai, Aug 9 (UNI) The Begusarai district civil surgeon (DCS) was arrested here by the state Vigilance Bureau sleuths on charges of accepting bribe, official sources today said.
Dr M L Agarwal was caught red-handed yesterday while he was accepting Rs 15,000 in cash from an ambulance owner, whom he had allegedly promised to extend some 'undue' favour, according to the sources.
Acting on a tip-off, a raid was also conducted simultaneously at Dr Agarwal's residence where Rs 14.28 lakh in cash were recovered, the sources said, adding that the DCS would be later produced in court today.
