Congress victory fever heating up in Amethi

Amethi/Sultanpur, July 23 (UNI) People today celebrated the victory of the Congress-led UPA government in the trust vote in Parliament with full zeal and fervour at the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's constituency Amethi and Sultanpur district.

As soon as the news of UPA government's winning the confidence motion yesterday broke, party supporters expressed happiness by bursting crackers and distributing sweets in the districts.

In the leadership of Sultanpur district Congress president Maqsood Alam and city president Radhey Raman Mishr, the victory fever continued today with the congress youths enthusiastically celebrating the win at every corner of the city by bursting crackers.

Besides, women also celebrated the cause under the leadership of Women Congress president Urmila and vice president Shahin Akhtar Similarly, in Amethi, Congress youth wing celebrated the victory with sweets and crackers.

Meanwhile, Amethi's nagar panchayat president Chandrama Agrahari along with Samajwadi Party leader Rajesh Agrihari expressed happiness and said had the SP not supported the Congress, it would have been difficult to achieve the success.

He further said Amethi's development would have also got hampered if the UPA government had failed to win the trust vote yesterday.

Earlier, during his last visit to Amethi a congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi had said that country is above all and whether the government remains in power or not the Nuclear deal will be brought to effect as it is for the benefit of the country.

He had also lauded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's regime and candid efforts regarding the nuclear deal.

Mr Gandhi was the first to congratulate Dr Singh after he won the confidence in the Lok Sabha.
