Badal assures support to blind institute
Ludhiana, Jul 17 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today announced to enhance the monthly diet allowance of the students of the Blind Institute at Jamalpur from Rs 600 to Rs 1200 per student.
He also announced to upgrade the existing High School in the institute campus to 10+2 level from the next academic year. He also directed the Public Health Department to make necessary arrangements for providing safe drinking water to the students of the institute.
Mr Badal asked the Social Security Women and Child Development Department to prepare a detailed project for the over all development of the institute that should include maintenance of playgrounds, completion of auditorium and installation of Browsour machine for the printing of Brail books and literature for the blind students at a cost of Rs 32 lakh.
Mr Badal made these announcements after visiting the institute along with Medical Education and Research Minister Tikshan Sud and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Harish Rai Dhanda today.
The Chief Minister assured that the state government would extend all support and financial help to the institute.
