Nepal's Madhesi parties boycott Constituent Assembly meeting
Kathmandu, July 13 : Nepal's Madhesi parties boycotted the Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting on Sunday, expressing discontent over the constitution amendment bill tabled by the government.
According to Nepalnews, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF), Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party, Sadbhawana Party and Dalit Janajati Party boycotted the CA meeting that will discuss the amendment bill before endorsing it.
The Madhesi parties had on Saturday decided to boycott the CA debate on the bill, which they say fails to address the issues raised by them.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress has issued whip to its CA members to attend the CA debate and voting on the amendment bill. Earlier today, NC organised a meeting of its parliament party to discuss its role in the CA.
