Farmer commits suicide in K'taka

Mysore, Jun 26 (UNI) Unable to repay mounting debts, a 72-year-old farmer of Hadajanahalli in K R Nagara Taluk of this district allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a tank near the village today.

Revenue Department Officials said Puttanaje Gowda owned a small piece of land and took loans from a cooperative bank and private money lenders.

The body had been fished out of the tank and sent for post mortem, they said.
