1.50 lakh pilgrims registered for Amarnath Yatra
Jammu, June 3 (UNI) Over 1.50 lakh pilgrims have been registered since May 2 for the two-month-long Amarnath Yatra scheduled to begin from June 18, official sources here said today.
''So far, 1,50,030 pilgrims have confirmed their registration for the yatra at different branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank across the country since the registration commenced on May 2,'' official sources told UNI.
However, the process of registration would continue till July 13 while tight security arrangements have also been made for smooth yatra, they added.
''About 1,000 additional troops of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be deployed to meet the increased security requirements during Amarnath Yatra as at least six companies have been brought in for security purposes,'' the sources added.
