Advani flags off Vikas Yatra in Chhattisgarh

Dantewara, Chhattisgarh, May 23 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani today said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh is fulfilling the vision of development and progress of people envisaged by freedom fighters.

''Under the leadership of Dr Singh, Chhattisgarh has made great strides of development following its creation by Parliament led by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2000 with this objective,'' said Mr Advani, who was here to flag off 'Vikas Yatra' here.

On the occasion, Dr Singh announced setting up of a separate university for Bastar. Besides, foundation laying and inauguration of several development projects worth Rs 66.61 crore was done in Dantewara.

Former Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad, MPs Baliram Kashyap and Vishnudev Sai, several cabinet ministers and Durg Mayor Saroj Pandey were present among others.

Referring to his political life, Mr Advani said he had seen several ups and downs. He went to several villages but had a special corner for Chhattisgarh.
