MP govt demands more power from Centre

Bhopal, Apr 29 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has been constantly urging the Centre to provide more electricity to this power-starved state and drew attention to the delay in work on a 210-MW unit of the Amarkantak Thermal Power Station that was to be completed by February 28, 2007, official sources said today.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd was entrusted with work on the unit.

Delay is also being encountered in work on the 500-MW Unit 5 of the Birsinghpur Thermal Power Station.
