Newly elected Mayor, Deputy Mayor take oath

Ranchi, Apr 12 (UNI) The newly elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) along with Ward Commissioners were administered oath of office at a function here today.

The state formed in November 2000, witnessed its first local body polls on March 25 last, after which Rama Khalko and Ajaynath Shahdeo were elected as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the RMC respectively.

RMC administrator Vinay Kumar Choubey along with Deputy Commissioner Avinash Kumar were also present in the function.

Meanwhile, the Ranchi Nagar Nigam Bachao Samittee and Indian Advocate Front activists boycotted the function and shouted anti-government slogans outside the venue.
