Councillors decide to work in unison for city development
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 27 (UNI) Cutting across party lines, all the 50 elected representatives of the municipal corporation here today vowed to sink their differences and work unitedly for the development of the city.
A decision in this regard was taken at a special meeting held at the corporation conference hall here, former corporation Vice-Chairman Inukonda Pattabhiramaiah, who was instrumental in bringing the members together, told newspersons.
He said a seven-member committee was constituted to take up issues related to the development of the city with the government and secure funds for the same.
A five-member advisory body would provide guidance in securing funds from the government.
Mr Pattabhiramaiah said the representatives were planning to meet Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in Hyderabad on April two to seek funds for the development of the city.
