Mah Govt yet to decide on new DGP, CP

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has not taken any decision on the appointment of new Director General of Police (DGP) and city Police Commissioner, even as the incumbent top officials retire tomorrow.

DGP Dr P S Pasricha and Police Commissioner D N Jadhav would retire tomorrow.

According to deputy chief miinister R R Patil, the decision could not be taken today as chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh was busy in his son's marriage.

Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jeevan Veerkar is the front runner for the DGP's post, while Thane Police Commissioner D Shivanandan and DG (administration) Hassan Gafoor are the front runners for Police Commissioner's post.
