Major fire breaks out at Petrol pump in Morbi

Rajkot, Jan 23 (UNI) A major fire broke out at a Petrol pump in Morbi, about 70 km from here this afternoon.

Chief fire Officer R K Maheshwari told UNI that the fire broke out at around 1615 hours at petrol pump near old bus station of Morbi.

The fire was partially controlled and efforts were on to put out the flames, he said adding that two fire tenders have been pressed into service.

A truck, two auto-rickshaws and five two-wheelers were reduced to ashes in the fire. Nearby shops have been closed and the police have cordoned off the area. The cause of the fire was not yet known, Mr Maheshwari added.
