Chill back as mercury plummets to 6.4 degrees C
New Delhi, Jan 20 (UNI) After a week of warm, sunny weather, the cold has returned with the temperature further falling to 6.4 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature (6.4) fell almost another degree from yesterday's 7.5, which had sharply plunged from Friday's 14 degrees C, causing a chill in the air and ending a nearly week-long spell of warm weather in Delhi.
The Met department attributed the sudden change to the Western Disturbances crossing Jammu and Kashmir and strong North Westerlies.
The nip in the air could continue for the next few days with the minimum temperature likely to dip to five degrees C tomorrow.
The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky and mist/shallow fog in the morning.
