FIR against MLA for inciting violence in jail

Sasaram, Jan 6 (UNI) Two separate FIRs were registered against suspended JD(U) MLA Sunil Pandey, lodged in Sasaram divisional jail, for inciting violence among the prisoners in its premises.

Police said prisoner Vir Bahadur Ram had lodged an FIR against Mr Pandey at Mufassil police station, alleging that he had instigated other prisoners to attack him during the violence which erupted in jail premises yesterday.Mr Pandey was booked under section of Indian Penal Code relating to attempt to murder, police added.

Another FIR lodged by Jail warden Ravindra Nath alleged that Mr Pandey had instigated the inmates of his group to attack the others resulting in violence during which at least 24 prisoners had sustained injuries. Mr Nath was also injured in the incident.

Earlier, 24 prisoners were injured when two rival groups of the jail inmates had clashed over a trivial issue in Sasaram jail premises yesterday.
