Gujarat shocker: 13-year-old girl turns to prostitution to buy high-end gadgets, becomes pregnant
Vadodara, May 26: The obsession for collecting gadgets at an adolescent age can have dangerous consequences. It turned out to be true in the case of a 13-year-old Gujarat girl.
As per a report published in TOI, the girl, who had just entered her teenage, threw herself in the world of prostitution, and became pregnant at a tender age. The reason behind why she chose to enter prostitution is said to be her fondness and greed for high-end gadgets and smartphones.

The girl recently confided to her mother about her activities, when she turned pregnant. Her mother runs a grocery shop in Subhanpura, Vadodara.
After knowing about her daughter, she took her to 181 Abhayam, and NGO-based helpline for women in distress.
During the counselling session, it was revealed that the girl had been working as a prostitute independently and booked her clients through a secret secondary phone.
The female counseller, who attended her, said that the girl remained unfazed.
However, the girl admitted that since she was strapped for money and unable to buy electronic gadgets, that her friends used, she used the vacant house before her mother returned from the grocery shop.
Due to a change in her behavious, her mother sent her to her maternal uncle's home in Anand. But the girl, threatened to commit suicide if she was not called back to Vadodara.
The counseller also said that the girl tried to justify her acts before she could understand that she was wrong.
Several electronic gadgets and mobile phones were also found in her possession.
Some of her friends knew about her activities, it emerged. The girl was adopted by her parents, who are the native of Anand, but they had shifted to Vadodara.
