MA Yusuff Ali Net Worth: What Is The Wealth Of LuLu Group Chairman?
MA Yusuff Ali, Chairman of LuLu Group, is challenging stereotypes by demonstrating that wealth need not create barriers between individuals. His recent acts of humility and kindness have garnered widespread admiration across social media platforms.
According to Forbes, Yusuff Ali's net worth stands at $7.8 billion (approximately ₹65,150 crore). As of September 2024, his wealth is estimated to be around ₹73,040 crore. Yusuff Ali leads LuLu Group, a retail powerhouse operating across the Middle East, Africa, and India.

But how did Yusuff Ali amass such a formidable business empire in just 24 years-an empire so significant that the royal family of Abu Dhabi invested $1 billion for a 20% stake?
Born on November 15, 1955, in Nattika, Thrissur district, Kerala, Yusuff Ali received a solid education. He completed his early schooling at St. Xavier's High School in Karanchira before earning a diploma in Business Management and Administration (MBA). From a young age, it was evident that he aimed to be an employer rather than an employee.
In 1973, at the age of 18, he moved to Abu Dhabi to join his uncle's modest distribution business. This decision marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey.
A pivotal moment came in 1990 when Yusuff Ali spearheaded LuLu Group's foray into the supermarket sector. This strategic move coincided with a shift in the retail landscape in Abu Dhabi, where traditional grocery stores were giving way to larger outlets and hypermarkets. He launched the first LuLu Hypermarket, setting the stage for the group's expansion.
By 1995, the retail sector in Dubai had transformed, with major players like Carrefour entering the market. Yusuff Ali capitalized on this opportunity by expanding the LuLu Hypermarket chain in Abu Dhabi, thereby strengthening the group's reputation and market presence.
Today, LuLu Group operates malls in six Indian cities-Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Coimbatore, and Hyderabad. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the group is recognized as a trendsetter in the retail industry across the Middle East and North Africa, boasting over 250 hypermarkets and supermarkets.
Yusuff Ali Family:
Yusuff Ali is happily married and has three daughters. His eldest daughter, Sabeena, is married to billionaire businessman Shamsheer Vayalil. The second daughter, Shafeena, is wed to Adeeb Ahamed, who oversees Lulu International Exchange and Twenty14 Holdings. Their youngest daughter, Shifa, is married to Sharoon Shamsudheen, an entrepreneur thriving in the IT sector.
