Kerala Opinion Poll Shows Close Fight Between Chennithala, Vijayan, Satheesan

Kerala Opinion Poll: A latest opinion poll by Poll Tracker has offered an early glimpse into voter preferences ahead of the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, revealing a closely contested race among key political figures for the chief minister's post.

According to the survey, Ramesh Chennithala has emerged as the most preferred choice for chief minister, securing 24.0 per cent of the votes. He is followed closely by incumbent chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who garnered 22.3 per cent support, indicating that the contest remains tight at the top.

The poll also highlights strong competition within the opposition ranks. V. D. Satheesan stands third with 21.6 per cent, not far behind the top two contenders. His presence in the top bracket suggests a divided preference base among voters backing alternative leadership.

Former health minister K. K. Shailaja secured 17.4 per cent in the survey, maintaining a solid support base and reflecting her continued popularity among sections of the electorate. Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor received 14.7 per cent, rounding off the list of prominent leaders in the poll.

The findings underline a fragmented political landscape in Kerala, with no single leader enjoying a decisive lead. The narrow gap between the top three contenders suggests that voter sentiment remains fluid and could shift significantly as the election campaign progresses.

The presence of multiple leaders from the same political spectrum in the top ranks also points to internal competition within parties, particularly in the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF). This dynamic could play a crucial role in shaping campaign strategies in the coming months.
