Gita Mittal takes oath as CJI of Jammu and Kashmir High Court
Srinagar, Aug 11: Justice Gita Mittal took oath as the first woman Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

Justice Gita Mittal was the acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. Justice Gita Mittal was a top lawyer in the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India.
Justice Mittal was confirmed as a permanent judge of the Delhi High Court on February 20, 2006, after she was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court on July 16, 2004. An alumna of Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, Justice Mittal began practicing in 1981.
In 2008, the Lady Shriram College (LSR) for Women in Delhi awarded her the Distinguished Alumna Award. Mittal received the prestigious award from the then Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari.
