Rinku Singh Reveals How Romance With Priya Saroj Began During IPL 2022

Who would have thought that a cricket star and a politician could meet through Instagram likes? Indian cricketer Rinku Singh, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) sensation, recently revealed the charming story behind his engagement to Samajwadi Party politician Priya Saroj. Until now, Rinku had kept his personal life private, with no rumors linking him romantically to anyone since his rise in the IPL.

In an interview with News24, Rinku shared how their connection began. "It started in 2022 during the COVID years when IPL was in Mumbai," he said. "I had a fan page that shared a photo of Priya about some voting activity in her village. Priya's sister handles her photos and videos, and I think she asked the fan page to post it for support. I saw the photo and liked her instantly. I thought she was perfect for me. I considered messaging her but felt it wouldn't be right at that time."

Rinku said he finally reached out only after Priya interacted with his Instagram profile. "She liked a couple of my photos. Then I messaged her on Instagram, and that's how it all started. Within a week or two, we were talking regularly, even before matches. That's when I realized I had feelings for her back in 2022," he shared.

The couple officially got engaged on June 8. Rinku also spoke about how Priya's role as a Member of Parliament has affected their communication. "There hasn't been any change between us; initially, we used to speak a lot, but now our conversations have reduced significantly," he said. "She does her work, visits villages, meets people, and attends parliament sessions. It's important for her to do this groundwork as a politician. If you check her Instagram, you'll see how much she works. She leaves in the morning and returns at night, so we only get time to talk in the evenings."

Despite their busy schedules, Rinku emphasized that their bond remains strong, with mutual respect for each other's professional commitments.
