Bangladesh Beat Pakistan By 6 Wickets To Register Historic Clean Sweep

Bangladesh completed a remarkable Test series sweep by defeating Pakistan in back-to-back matches. The second Test in Rawalpindi saw Bangladesh secure a six-wicket victory, following their impressive 10-wicket win in the first Test at the same venue.

This triumph marks only the second time Bangladesh has won a bilateral Test series of two or more matches away from home, the first being in the West Indies in 2009. In the World Test Championship standings, both Bangladesh and Pakistan currently hold the 7th and 8th positions, respectively.

During the chase, Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mominul Haq played crucial roles in Bangladesh reaching the 185-run target with over a session to spare. The win against Pakistan was Bangladesh's first-ever Test victory against them.

Despite a few early wickets, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan steadied the ship with a 32-run partnership, ensuring Bangladesh's victory. Pakistan's bowlers managed to take some wickets, but Bangladesh's determination led them to achieve the target.

The fast bowlers Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, and Taskin Ahmed played significant roles in restricting Pakistan to 172 runs in the second innings, setting up a manageable target for Bangladesh.

This series extended Pakistan's winless streak in Tests at home to ten matches. Shan Masood, Pakistan's Test captain, faced another clean sweep after losing to Australia 3-0 previously. Bangladesh's resilience was evident, especially after recovering from a challenging situation in the first innings.

Bangladesh's exceptional performance demonstrates their increasing strength and competitiveness on foreign grounds, marking a significant milestone for Bangladeshi cricket.
