Ashwin, You Beauty! Indian Spin Sensation Enters 500 Test Wicket Club

Indian spin sensation Ravichandran Ashwin on Friday achieved another milestone of his career. The off-spinner picked up his 500 test wicket at Rajkot's Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. English batsman Zak Crawley played a slog sweep to Ashwin's turning ball which Rajat Patidar caught at short fine-leg. Ashwin also registered his name in the record book as he became the second bowler in the world, after Sri Lanka great Muttaiah Muralidaran, to take 500 wickets in less than 100 red ball games.

With this achievement, Ravichandran Ashwin became India's second bowler, after former captain and leg-spinner Anil Kumble, to bag this record. Overall, he is the ninth cricketer to dismiss 500 test wickets.

The happiness and satisfaction of consistently doing well at the international level were visible on Ashwin's face. His teammates celebrated the special moment by hugging Ashwin and all were in smiles.

Ashwin is the fastest Indian to pick 50, 100, 150, 200, 350, 400, and 450 Test wickets, and now he has registered the fastest 500 Test wickets against his name.
