CM Yogi Adityanath Asks BJP MLAs To Keep Offices Open, Stay Active In SIR Voter Roll Revision

The article outlines the ongoing SIR voter list revision in Uttar Pradesh, with a directive for legislators to maintain active involvement, ensure accurate voter data, and prioritise preparations for upcoming elections within the budget session framework.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked all Bharatiya Janata Party legislators in Uttar Pradesh to stay closely involved in the special intensive revision of electoral rolls, known as SIR. During the budget session, legislators were told to keep their local offices open so that SIR-related voter list work did not slow down.

Yogi Adityanath stressed that the SIR exercise must continue without any disruption because of the coming elections. Legislators were urged to ensure more applications for adding eligible names, deleting entries of deceased voters, and shifting votes where people had changed address, while also preventing ineligible voters from getting listed.

SIR voter list revision and expectations from legislators

The Chief Minister also directed every legislator to remain present in the House during the entire session. According to Yogi Adityanath, attendance in the legislature and field activity for SIR were both important. The instructions came at the Bharatiya Janata Party legislature party meeting, which was held on Sunday.

The meeting saw participation from both Deputy Chief Ministers, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party organisation general secretary Dharmpal Singh. Legislators from National Democratic Alliance partner parties also attended. Discussions moved between election preparation, SIR implementation, and the strategy for debates during the budget session.

SIR voter list revision and election preparation strategy

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that preparation for the next elections should start immediately. Keshav Prasad Maurya told legislators that the aim was to form the government again with a big majority. For this target, regular presence in the House and strong responses to opposition charges were described as essential.

Keshav Prasad Maurya advised legislators to come to the assembly with full facts. Keshav Prasad Maurya said they should listen carefully to the Governor’s address and the budget and later present their views, focusing on key points. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak gave a similar message and asked legislators to attend with complete preparation.

SIR voter list revision, opposition response and budget session

Brajesh Pathak warned that the opposition would try different methods to create confusion during the session. According to Brajesh Pathak, Bharatiya Janata Party legislators should ensure such attempts did not succeed. The leadership linked this sharp floor strategy with the wider goal of managing SIR properly before the forthcoming polls.

On the other side, Congress legislature party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona alleged that the government did not want detailed discussion on the budget or other issues. Aradhana Mishra Mona said limited time had been allotted for budget debate. According to Aradhana Mishra Mona, there was no schedule for department-wise discussions or for debate on cut motions.

SIR voter list revision, party programmes and budget focus

Aradhana Mishra Mona argued that the opposition had almost no scope to question allocations. Aradhana Mishra Mona said the government presented a very large budget but did not spend properly, leaving people troubled. According to Aradhana Mishra Mona, the opposition wanted to raise such matters, while the government seemed interested mainly in placing its own version.

Bharatiya Janata Party organisation general secretary Dharmpal Singh told legislators that the party would observe the death anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay as “Samarpan Diwas". Dharmpal Singh said all legislators should participate. Dharmpal Singh also called SIR an important ongoing process and asked legislators to work at their level along with the organisation, calling it crucial for the coming elections.

SIR voter list revision, budget details and key participants

Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna briefed legislators on major budget elements during the meeting. Suresh Kumar Khanna said the government had focused on development-oriented schemes from the first day. Suresh Kumar Khanna added that the budget would reflect the same direction and asked members to study the document carefully once it was presented.

Suresh Kumar Khanna advised legislators to understand important provisions in detail, prepare thoroughly, and then speak with clear data when their turn came in the House. A notable absence at the meeting was Charkhari MLA Brijbhushan Rajput, who earlier drew attention for stopping Irrigation Minister Swatantra Dev Singh’s convoy and had received a notice from the Bharatiya Janata Party after repeated public statements.

Many attending members looked for Brijbhushan Rajput during the legislature party meeting, but Brijbhushan Rajput did not appear. Overall, party leaders linked disciplined conduct in the House, SIR-based voter list accuracy, and involvement in organisational events with the shared objective of performing strongly in the next elections and managing legislative business as planned.
