Bengal BJP Leader Dilip Ghosh To Marry At 60, Bride Rinku Opens Up About Proposal

Former West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh will wed fellow party leader Rinku Majumdar on Friday night in Kolkata in a customary Vedic ceremony. Many were taken aback by the revelation, especially given the unusual tale of how the two met. Ghosh, 60, had long been single.

Rinku Majumdar, who has been a part of the BJP since 2013, told News18 Bangla about their relationship. Even though they belonged to the same political party, they didn't interact much while Ghosh was an MP and MLA. According to Rinku, who is involved at the block level, they had their first informal discussion in Eco Park before the 2021 elections.

Thinking back on how the proposal happened, Rinku stated that she started thinking about getting married in September of last year. She had certain requirements, such as her partner having to support her political career and reside in New Town. "Ghosh immediately sprung to me when I considered who fit these requirements. In my constituency, he was the most eligible bachelor, she remarked. She was drawn to him because of his integrity and strength. Despite his delayed reaction, she made the decision to pop the question.

She revealed, "He didn't say yes right away." "He thought about it for three months, talked to his mother, and then responded to me." Rinku characterized Ghosh as someone who values honesty and family, particularly his bond with his mother, and who takes the time to understand others.

Because of their similar political views, their relationship stayed covert. Rinku, however, started going to Eco Park more regularly to provide moral support when Ghosh withdrew from the limelight following his recent electoral defeat. "Those in positions of authority are surrounded by a lot of people. Most of them vanish when they aren't. "I felt that was the ideal moment to be there," she remarked.

State president Sukanta Majumdar and other BJP officials paid a visit to Ghosh's home in New Town on Friday morning to offer their greetings. This is Rinku Majumdar's second marriage, but Ghosh's first. Her prior marriage produced a son.
