Dentist in West Virginia Charged for Camera in Employee Bathroom

A West Virginia dentist is facing charges after a hidden camera was allegedly discovered in his office's employee bathroom. Dr. Jeremy Michael Crow, 45, from Washington, Pennsylvania, surrendered to the Weirton Police Department on Monday.

Dentist Charged for Privacy Breach

Police Chief Charlie Kush announced that Crow has been charged with 39 counts of misdemeanor criminal invasion of privacy. An attempt to reach Crow's office on Tuesday went unanswered, as the call went to voicemail.

Employee Discovery and Investigation

In May, an employee reported finding a camera concealed inside a water bottle in the bathroom used by staff at Crow's office. During the investigation, at least 10 female employees confirmed seeing the same device.

Kush stated that there was no evidence suggesting cameras were placed in the public bathroom of the office. The investigation remains focused on the employee restroom where the device was found.

Legal Proceedings and Statements

Crow's attorney, Robert McCoid of Wheeling, issued a statement regarding the charges. He said, "After reviewing the allegations, we have concluded that the government's case is thin soup at best. We are eager to test the prosecution's evidence in the courtroom and look forward to his acquittal before a jury of his peers." The statement also mentioned that Crow would continue his dental practice.

Crow was released on a $20,000 bond following his arraignment. The police statement confirmed this detail as part of their ongoing communication about the case.

Location and Context

Weirton, where Crow turned himself in, is located approximately 35 miles (60 kilometers) west of Pittsburgh. The small town has been thrust into the spotlight due to this incident involving a local dentist.

The case continues to develop as authorities gather more information and prepare for upcoming legal proceedings. The community awaits further updates on this matter.

The situation has raised concerns among employees and residents about privacy and security in workplaces. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as they continue their investigation.

This incident highlights the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious activities in professional environments. It serves as a reminder for businesses to ensure their premises are secure for all employees.
