Trump looked defiant, played gold ahead of his surrender: Reports

The focus of the world is on former US president, Donald Trump who is expected to surrender at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office on Tuesday.

The former US president will be formally arrested and charged with 34 Class E felonies for falsification of business records. Report said that he will not be handcuffed, placed in a jail cell or subject to a mugshot, reports said.

Trump became the first former US president to face criminal charges after he was probed for hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Trump flew into New York in his private plane Monday and he is likely to be fingerprinted prior to appearing before a judge for an arraignment where he will plead not guilty.

Ahead of the surrender, a CNN report said that Trump looked defiant and focused. He watched expensive television coverage during his flight back to his native New York, the report also said.

Trump according to the same report has been surprisingly calm and spent the weekend in Florida playing golf and how to use it to boost his campaign.

Meanwhile news outlets will not be allowed to broadcast the arraignment, a judge said on Monday night, while adding that he will allow some photographs to take pictures in the courtroom before the proceedings begin.

Alina Habba who represents Trump in many civil matters said that she spent time with the former president in New York.

"He is in good spirits. Honestly he is as he normally would be. He is ready to go in and do what he needs to do," Habba said.

She also told Fox News that barring any surprises, it should be a smooth affair. "We are trying to coordinate and cooperate with everybody to make sure that there are no problems," she added.

On being asked if Trump would get a fair trial in Manhattan, Habba said, " no, no, I think it is very difficult. I would like to have faith in this state, but I have been practicing for him now for a couple of years and gone to court in New York for a few years. I can tell you, it is not the same representing anybody else."
