According to DU Registrar Vikas Gupta, By 13 July, 2026, around 2,08,043 candidates have completed the admission process of CSAS. In this stage, candidates have filed a application combined 1,59,42,385 unique programme and college preferences, that shows the demand for the seats in the university's 67 affiliated colleges.

Key Dates Students Should Not Miss
Those students who have received the a seat in the first list should accept the allotted seat by 11.59 PM on 18 July, 2026. Admission will only be accepted after the candidates submit the prescribed college fees within the time line.
"The shortlisted candidates must accept their seat by 11:59 pm of Saturday, July 18, 2026. Once the candidates submit their programme fees within a stipulated round, they will get an opportunity to choose 'upgrade/freeze'. Candidates who choose for upgrade will be able to reorder their higher preferences the window for which will remain open till 11:59 pm July 21, 2026," the university said.
The candidates who will choose 'Freeze' option will confirm their seat and exit the admission process. However, if the the candidate choose 'Upgrade' option to continue, they will continue to hope for next list to get the upgraded seat while retaining this one as well.
The last date for the admission fess payment is 21 July, and the candidates who have not got any seat in Round 1 list, should not submit a fresh application for it. This will continue to count for the second round of list.
The second list will be released on 25 July, while the candidates who will be selected have to submit the fees till 28 July.
Special Categories and Reservation-Wise Allocation
DU also released details about the allocations happened under special and reserved categories. In the first round of list, 1,243 single girl child candidates got the admissions. While 242 orphan candidates got the seats which includes 133 female and 109 male candidates.
According to DU, 99.9 percent seats for the unreserved category have been allocated in the first round of list. While in the reserve category, 96 percent for OBC, 95.2 percent for SC, and 92.7 percent for EWS seats were allocated.
On the other hand, 67.3 percent of seats have been reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST), 23 percent seats for the Person with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
