Trump calls on allies, including ones from the Muslim world to defeat IS
We cannot allow a beachhead of terrorism to form inside America, Donald Trump said in his address.
Washington, Mar 1: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday in his first speech to the Congress called out for efforts to defeat the Islamic State. Trump said, "We are taking strong measures to protect our nation from radical Islamic terrorism. We cannot allow our Nation to become a sanctuary for extremists."
"We cannot allow a beachhead of terrorism to form inside America," he added and said that the US will work with all its allies, including friends from the Muslim World to defeat IS. "We will work with our allies, including our friends and allies in the Muslim world, to extinguish this vile enemy," he said.
This comes after the Pentagon sent a plan on how to defeat the IS to the White House. Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis told reporters that it was the framework for a broader plan and looked at the ISIS around the world, not just Iraq and Syria.
