PM Modi Engages with Vietnam's President To Lam to Strengthen Bilateral Relations at UNGA
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Vietnamese President To Lam during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. They explored ways to strengthen ties between India and Vietnam, focusing on areas like connectivity, trade, and culture. Modi is visiting the US for three days, having addressed the UN's Summit of the Future amid global conflicts.

Modi shared on X about his meeting with To Lam, stating they reviewed the full scope of India-Vietnam relations. He expressed eagerness to boost momentum in various sectors. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed that both leaders discussed enhancing their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on mutual interests.
Strengthening Strategic Partnerships
Earlier, Modi met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and voiced concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He reiterated India's commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region. Modi's visit to New York follows his participation in the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, where he also held talks with US President Joe Biden.
On Sunday, Modi addressed a large gathering of Indian-Americans at the 'Modi&US' event in Long Island. He engaged with top tech leaders and CEOs from the US during a roundtable conference. Later that day, he conducted bilateral discussions with various world leaders.
The meeting between Modi and To Lam signifies a step forward in strengthening India-Vietnam relations. Both countries are keen to collaborate more closely on shared interests, enhancing their strategic partnership further.
