Multi-Party Indian Delegation In Guyana Backs Tharoor’s Tough Message On Terrorism

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor issued a strong speech condemning Pakistan's continuous backing for cross-border terrorism, stating that India will not allow anyone to evade responsibility after harming its citizens. Speaking in Guyana as part of a multi-party delegation, Tharoor emphasised that India is determined not only to prosecute those who carry out terrorist attacks, but also to bring those who sponsor, fund, train, and arm such groups accountable.

"Our message is very clear," Tharoor explained. "We must be resolute against terrorism wherever it appears. It is not enough to bring the offenders to jail; we must also pursue those who provide them with money, training, and weapons.

Multi-Party Indian Delegation In Guyana Backs Tharoor s Tough Message On Terrorism

Tharoor, who arrived in Georgetown after a trip to the United States, said on Sunday that India's fight against terrorism had lasted four decades. Now, the country has reached a stage of unyielding determination.

"We will never let anyone think they can cross our borders, harm our people, and escape without consequences," he told reporters. "There must be a cost to such conduct. That is the firm message being sent by the Indian government, and we are here to reaffirm it, regardless of political affiliation. This is a watershed moment in our approach to combating terrorism."

He also asked the Indian diaspora in Guyana to band together in support of India's unwavering stance against terrorism emanating from Pakistani soil.

"We call on all of you to express your support and strength in solidarity. If such attacks occur again in the future, we must respond as one. This is the core purpose of our visit," Tharoor added.
