Rajkumar was arrested in May in the POCSO case after the 16-year-old minor girl lodged a complaint for stalking and sexually harassment. "The accused was following the girl from her coaching institute to her house and was pressuring her to accept his proposal," Joshi said.
He had secured anticipatory bail from the court in July on a personal bond of Rs 20,000.
However, Police said Rajkumar had displayed behavioural issues even before the murders and the cops had called for counselling sessions a few times. "We called him two or three times for counselling. His family members have stated that his mental condition was not stable. He also had a gambling habit and had accumulated loans earlier," the officer said.
