While demanding the Pakistan government to release his father, Hafiz Talha promised to liberate Kashmir from India. He called PM Modi a "shaitan"(devil) and said "I want to warn PM Modi that Kashmir belongs to Muslims, and we will take Kashmir from you. It will be a part of Pakistan Muslim India soon,"

Talha accused the Indian PM of globally maligning his father, a designated global organisation. "Hafiz Saeed is not guilty; why is he suffering in jail?" he asked.

Coming back to his son, Talha had unsuccessfully contested in 2024 Pakistani general elections from his father-backed Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML). However, he tasted humiliating defeat by getting just 2041 votes while finishing in sixth place.

Pak Wants To Resolve Kashmir Issue With India

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said his country would like to resolve all issues, including Kashmir, with India through talks. However, he reiterated his "unwavering" support for the people of Kashmir.

"India should come out of the thinking of August 5, 2019, and fulfil promises made to the UN and launch a dialogue," PTI quoted him as saying as he referred to the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution that revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories.
