IDF To Launch 'Powerful Airstrikes' Across Middle East Tonight, Israeli Military Confirms

The Israeli military has announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will launch "powerful airstrikes throughout the Middle East" tonight, marking a significant escalation following Iran's recent missile attacks. The announcement came after more than 200 missiles were fired at Israel by Iranian forces in retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

"We will carry out powerful airstrikes across the Middle East tonight, targeting strategic sites. Israel will not tolerate these provocations, and we will defend our citizens," the IDF confirmed.

Earlier today, Israel's missile defense system intercepted projectiles over Tel Aviv as part of Iran's missile barrage. The Israeli military later announced that the immediate attack appeared to be over, with no casualties reported.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the missile strikes, stating they were in retaliation for the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Both leaders were targeted in Israeli operations, with Nasrallah killed in an airstrike on Beirut, while Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran following his attendance at the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in July.

The IRGC warned Israel against retaliation, stating, "Should the Zionist regime respond to Iran's operation, it will face crushing attacks." The missile strike, they added, was coordinated with Iran's army and Ministry of Defense.
