Explosion in southern Turkish city as police vehicle passes

An explosion targeting bus for police officers hit southern Turkish city on Tuesday.

According to media reports, many have been injured after the huge explosion. The blast took place on Tuesday in the city of Mersin on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey.

The incident occurred in the urban district of Yenisehir. According to preliminary data, the incident is classified as a terrorist act.

Emergency and local law enforecement services, as well as ambulances have arrived to the site.
Local TV reports of 12 people injured as a result of the explosion.
