What Does Power Sharing In Karnataka Mean? Congress Answers
After much speculation and drama, the Congress finally came up with a solution in Karnataka. D K Shivakumar who had refused to back down finally relented and agreed to be deputy to Siddaramaiah.
At first it was said that the two leaders would share their terms for a period of 2.5 years each. However the option had been scrapped because both did not want to go second in the line up.

When asked about what does 'power sharing' mean, the Congress said, "power sharing means sharing power with the people of Karnataka... that is all."
"Nothing is there. Our motive is to deliver the five guarantees to the people of Karnataka that we promised," AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal sasid.
The two leaders will now be sworn in on Saturday. There is however no clarity on how many ministers will be sworn in.

After the entire issue was settled, Shivakumar said, "Karnataka's secure future and our people's welfare is our top priority... and we (the Congress) are united in guaranteeing that."
Siddaramaiah ahas however refrained from making comments.
"Our only formula is the service of people. Whoever wants to serve the people can do so, as much as they want. All our allies will be invited (to the oath-taking ceremony). This is not a celebration but Congress's dedication to democracy...those who want to fight for democracy and save the Constitution, can attend the event," AICC in-charge of Karnataka, Randeep Singh Surjewala said.
Meanwhile preparations are on in full swing at the Kanteerva Stadium in Bengaluru for the swearing-in-cermony.
