West Delhi: 3 Jarnail Singhs in the candidates' list confuse voters

had a hard time choosing among three candidates bearing the same name and similar symbols.

There are three candidates with the name 'Jarnail SIngh' in the list. Two of them are standing as independents, while the third is the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate.

AAP 's Jarnail Singh is quite well-known for he had earlier hurled a shoe at the then Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram for giving a Congress ticket to Sajjan Kumar.

This confusion was expected. The AAP had earlier written to the Election Commission about the namesakes and the similarity of the party symbols. The symbol for the one of the independent candidates' symbol was a Torch with rays of lights, and it closely resembled that of the AAP's broom. After the AAP raised a complaint, EC removed the rays from the symbol.

The other Jarnail Singh has a symbol which resembles that of other two - A shuttlecock.
