Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday presided over the concluding day of the two-day state-level senior police officers' conference, Police Manthan, held at the Police Headquarters. Addressing senior officers, the Chief Minister highlighted the far-reaching reforms and achievements of the Uttar Pradesh Police, stating that the state has witnessed a historic transformation in its law-and-order system over the past eight and a half years.

Sharing his vision for "Smart Policing," he underlined the decisive changes implemented since 2017 in recruitment, training, infrastructure, cybersecurity, forensics and the Police Commissionerate system.

ADG Padmaja Chauhan presented initiatives related to Mission Shakti Centres, community awareness programmes and the Family Dispute Resolution Clinic (FDRC). ADG (Gorakhpur Zone) Ashok Mutha Jain also shared insights on the 'Bahu-Beti Sammelan' initiative aimed at strengthening social awareness and safety.

Smart Police Station Management:

DG (Lucknow Zone) Sujit Pandey introduced the 'Smart SHO Dashboard', an integrated digital platform designed to reduce grievance redressal time, enhance accountability and improve monitoring of traffic and crime at the police station level.

Cyber Crime:

DG (Cyber Crime) Binod Kumar Singh spoke on capacity building in collaboration with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and highlighted the role of Cyber Help Desks in addressing emerging digital threats.

Human Resource Development and Welfare:

DG (Training) Rajiv Sabharwal emphasized behavioural improvement of police personnel, health schemes for families and the use of the i-GOT portal for online training. The role of 'Vamasarathi' in promoting women empowerment within the force was also discussed.

Prosecution and Prisons:

DG (Prosecution) Dipesh Juneja discussed the development of an e-reporting portal for monitoring mafias and the introduction of 12 key performance indicators for prosecutors. DG (Prisons) Prem Chand Meena highlighted the digitisation of prisons, including AI-based CCTV surveillance, Health ATMs and the use of video conferencing for more than 50,000 court testimonies.

CCTNS 2.0 and New Criminal Laws:

ADG (Technical Services) Naveen Arora elaborated on strengthening data-driven policing under the new criminal laws, focusing on provisions such as e-FIR, Zero FIR, e-Summons and e-Sakshya.

The conference concluded with closing remarks by the Director General of Police, marking another significant step towards building a technologically advanced, transparent and citizen-centric Uttar Pradesh Police.
