Rahul Gandhi builds Congress' 'Sach Bharat' narrative to counter BJP's 'lies'
The Congress seems to have decided upon its narrative to attack the Narendra Modi government at the centre and the party's Vice President is leading the charge. In all his recent speeches, Rahul Gandhi has pressed for a 'Sach Bharat', instead of Prime Minister Modi's 'Swachch Bharat'.
He sought for a 'Sach Bharat' in two of his speeches in Bengaluru on Wednesday and reiterated his demand on Thursday in New Delhi. It is not mere words that Rahul Gandhi is expressing when he speaks of Sach Bharat. The Congress, both at the national as well as regional levels, has started what it calls the 'exposing of BJP government's lies'.
Timeline of most Congress leaders' social media platform is filled with 'fact checks', 'nailing BJP's lies' and 'highlighting truths' etc. In fact, Congress spokesperson Dinesh Gundu Rao had told OneIndia earlier that the purpose of Congress becoming active on social media was to counter and nail BJP's lies. "The BJP has been feeding lies to the public and there is no mechanism to stop it. We want to tell people the truth. We will use social media to expose BJP's lies and misrepresentations," Dinesh Gundu Rao had told OneIndia in an interview.
"Modiji says he wants to create a Swachch Bharat but we want Sach Bharat. Wherever he goes he lies," said Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday. He charged with the same lines in Bengaluru a day earlier. The BJP has been proudly proclaiming that there has not been a single allegation of corruption against its government. With that being the scenario, the Congress seems to have figured out its narrative to counter the BJP- exposing lies, misrepresentations and factual errors.
The 'Sach Bharat' narrative will now be built to favour the Congress and paint a 'liar' picture of the BJP and Narendra Modi government. Incidentally, it is Rahul Gandhi who is pushing the narrative forward. Making it a point to reiterate it in all of his recent speeches. Like clockwork, his cadres are taking the cue and busting BJP's claims of administration, work, development etc. All efforts are being put into strengthening the 'Sach Bharat' narrative but is it impactful is the big question.
