Prime Accused Arrested After Attack on Police and Magistrate During Unauthorised Rally in Odisha
The main suspect involved in the attack on police and a magistrate during an unauthorised rally in Bhadrak town, Odisha, has been apprehended. This arrest occurred nearly three months after the incident, according to an officer's statement on Tuesday.

A team led by Anshuman Dwibedi, Additional Superintendent of Police in Bhadrak district, captured the prime suspect in Bhadrak town. The accused had organised a rally near Santhia Bridge without obtaining prior permission from authorities.
Unauthorised Rally Leads to Violence
The group engaged in violent activities, including setting tyres ablaze and obstructing police duties. They also vandalised government vehicles and threw stones at police officers who attempted to halt the unauthorised gathering.
As a result of the violence, injuries were sustained by the Bhadrak Tehsildar, acting as a magistrate, and two police officers, one being a deputy superintendent of police (DSP). These events led to multiple complaints being filed against the accused at Saharanchal and Purunabazar police stations.
Arrest Following Court Appearance
The suspect had been evading capture since the incident. However, when he appeared at a local court on Monday seeking bail for an unrelated case, police officers were able to arrest him at the location.
This arrest marks a significant development in addressing the violence that erupted during the unauthorised rally. The authorities continue their efforts to maintain law and order in the region.
