Bengaluru, May 27: Four Indians have been named in the Forbes' list of world's most powerful 100 women.The 12th annual list of Forbe's mentioned most influential women of the world who are "transforming the world" and and have been "ranked by dollars, media presence and impact".

These women are extraordinary entrepreneurs, visionary CEOs, politicians, celebrity role models, billionaire activists and pioneer philanthropists.

German chancellor Angela Merkel topped in the list. Here are top ten women whose names have been featured in the list:

59-year-old Arundhati Bhattacharya is the first woman to be the chairperson of the State Bank of India (SBI).

Bhattacharya, who was listed as 36th the most powerful woman of the world in 2014, has been ranked the 30th on Forbe's list in 2015.On Bhattacharya, Forbes said she oversees 2,20,000 staff members in 16,000 branches and services 225 million customers at the country's largest lender (assets USD 400 billion) with offices spread over 36 countries."Recognising the multiple roles of working women, Bhattacharya pioneered a two-year sabbatical policy for female employees taking maternity leave or give extended care to family," it added.

53-year-old Chanda Kochhar is MD and CEO of ICICI Bank.

ICICI Bank is India's largest private bank and overall second largest bank in the country.Kochhar has been ranked the 35th on the list.Forbe's said that Kochhar has been credited with "leading a remarkable transformation" at India's largest private sector bank, which experienced major setbacks after the 2008 financial crisis.

"Her focus on 'mobile banking' in rural areas to reach more clients has been praised as a model for low cost expansion in a country with a burgeoning middle class," it said, adding that Kochhar has also been an outspoken proponent of clearer banking laws.

62-year-old Kiran Mazumdar Shawis the chairman and managing director of Biocon Limited, a biotechnology company based in Bangalore.

She has been listed at the 85th on the Forbe's list. Last year her name featured at the 92nd on Forbe's list.

Shaw founded Biocon in 1978 and turned it from a small industrial-enzymes company to India's largest publicly traded biopharmaceutical company, which had USD 460 billion in revenue last year and distributes its products in 85 countries around the world, Forbes said.

HT Media head Shobhana Bhartia

58-year-oldShobhana Bhartia is the Chairperson and Editorial Director of the Hindustan Times (HT) Group, one of India's newspaper and media houses, which she inherited from her father.

A new entrant, Bhartia has been listed at the 93rd spot on the Forbe's list.

Forbes said Bhartia, who makes her debut on the list in 2015, is a "media baroness".

PepsiCo Chief Indra Nooyi

PepsiCo Chief Indra Nooyi

59-year-old Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, is an Indian-born, naturalized American.

She is the business executive and the current Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo.

Nooyi's name has been featured in Forbe's list consistently since 2006.

In 2014, Nooyi was ranked 13th in the most powerful women in the world list of the magazine. This year she has been listed at the 15th spot.

Padmasree Warrior is the Chief Technology & Strategy Officer (CTO) of Cisco Systems, and the former CTO of Motorola, Inc.

She is another Indian-orgin woman whose name has been featured in the Forbes list of 100 most powerful women of the world.

Forbes' annual list is topped by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
