Panneerselvam slams 'anti-people' government, vows to eliminate it

O Panneerselvam declared the new government as anti-people and anti-Jayalalithaa.

Chennai, Feb 16: Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and self-declared Jayalalithaa loyalist, O Panneerselvam visited her memorial moments after the newly sworn-in chief minister paid tributes. Talking to the media after his visit, O Panneerselvam declared the new government as anti-people and anti-Jayalalithaa.

"Sasikala's family members were ousted by Amma. She took back Sasikala but not her family but today her family is running the party. This is not a people's government, neither is it Jayalalithaa's government. It is Sasikala's family's government and we will eliminate it," he said.

In stark contrast to Sasikala's theatrics of slamming Jayalalithaa's resting place, O Panneerselvam chose to play it cool while throwing his challenge to Sasikala's camp of AIADMK. "Starting tomorrow, people from various constituencies from where MLAs have been absent, will take out rallies and protest demanding that MLAs come back and do their jobs," he added hinting at a rebellion that is all set to take off across the state.

Panneerselvam accompanied by Mafoi Pandiarajan and PH Pandian reiterated that their camp was the true Jayalalithaa camp and Sasikala's camp stood for everything that Jayalalithaa wanted. He called the swearing=in of the new government 'unfortunate' and said that it was not the choice of the people of Tamil Nadu. "Amma's true government will come back in Tamil Nadu and this current anti-people government will be unceremoniously shunted out. This is our promise to our leader," he concluded.
