Karnataka: Congress corporator's son who stabbed a youth arrested

Congress corporator Lingaraju's son, Rakesh, who had allegedly stabbed his girlfriend's friend in Karnataka's Davangere, has reportedly been arrested. The attack on the youth had taken place on Tuesday (June 5) under KTJ Nagar Police Station limits in Devanagere.

The victim has been admitted to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment, said reports.

The police have registered a case in connection with the incident.

In February this year, Congress MLA NA Haris' son Mohammed Nalapad Haris had allegedly assaulted a 24-year-old man in Bengaluru. Nalapad was arrested on February 19, two days after he and his associates allegedly assaulted Vidvat, the son of a prominent businessman, in an uptown café in Bengaluru, over an altercation.

Nalapad's case had given the BJP ammo to train guns at the Congress as the incident had taken place months before the Karnataka assembly elections.
