Jammu and Kashmirs tableau at Bharat Parv 2024 showcases its developmental strides, handicraft industry, saffron cultivation, and cultural heritage, leaving visitors in awe.

The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir showcased its developmental achievements and rich cultural heritage at the Bharat Parv 2024 held at the Red Fort in New Delhi. The nine-day event, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is organized by the Ministry of Tourism from January 23 to 31.

Tableau Depicts Jammu's History and Cultural Treasures

The front section of Jammu and Kashmir's tableau brought to life the legend of Raja Jambu Lochan, symbolizing the harmonious beginnings of Jammu city. It also highlighted the newly inaugurated Jambu Zoo, the first full-fledged zoo in the UT, offering a diverse range of wildlife species.

Papier-Mâché Artistry and Saffron Cultivation

A highlight of the tableau was the front trailer, showcasing the delicate papier-mâché artistry of Kashmir, with a lifelike representation of a skilled lady artist at work. The midsection paid tribute to the Saffron Bowl of India with vivid depictions of Kashmiri women in the saffron fields, celebrating the region's renowned saffron exports and GI Tag.

Lal Chowk Clock Tower and Local Craftsmanship

The rear part of the tableau featured a scale model of Lal Chowk's iconic clock tower, symbolizing the region's progressive urban ethos. The sides of the tableau were adorned with models of saffron flowers and scenes of artisans crafting Kashmiri carpets and elegant wooden products, showcasing the local craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit.

In recent years, Jammu and Kashmir has made significant strides in infrastructure development and digital transformation, focusing on agriculture, urban and rural infrastructure, public aesthetics, ease of living, and providing a clean and sustainable environment for its citizens.
