Is Congress-mukt Bharat a reality? Modi wants to open archeological dept for Congress
Taking a dig at the Congress, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the country has to open an archeological department to remember the party in future.
Lucknow, March 6: In the final leg of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017, Modi wave has clearly swept across the northern state, as experts have revealed. All the rallies and roadshows attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were a major hit among the voters as they gave the Bharitya Janata Party's star campaigner a warm welcome.
In the wake of revival of fortunes of the BJP in UP post-demonetisation, the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance is looking a tad weak, as poll pundits suggest. Moreover, in the recent past we have witnessed how the Congress has lost almost all the elections--right from local and municipal body polls in Maharashtra, Odisha, Gujarat and Chandigarh to the state assembly elections.

Since its historical debacle in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress is witnessing defeat after defeat. After 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the party has lost six assembly elections too. In such a scenario, many are predicting that the grand old party of the nation is staring at a bleak future. It seems the BJP's claim of wiping out the Congress from across the country is becoming a reality, says a political analyst.
In fact, addressing a group of intellectuals in Varanasi, UP on Sunday, PM Modi took a dig at his rival party. The Prime Minister said that the Congress was 'over'. He added that the country has to open a 'dedicated' archeological department for the Congress to remember it.
"The SP and the Bahujan Samaj Party belong to the same league. And Congress...In future we have to open an archeological department for the Congress to remember it. (SP-BSP ek thaali ke chatte batte hain aur Cong toh...bhavishya mein shayad puratatva vibhag kholna padega ke koi Cong party thi ya nahi)," PM Modi said.
The PM added that the Congress was nowhere, in spite of ruling the country for so long. "The country has seen the Congress. We don't have to say what has happened to the country because of the party. In spite of ruling the country for so long, the Congress is nowhere. (Desh ne Congress dekhi. Hum kahan pahuche kehne ki zarurat nahi, kya haal hua hamara. Itne lambe arse sarkar chalake ek dal kahan khada hai."
