Kharge Urges Modi Govt for Concrete Security Steps Over Self-Praise
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge voiced his concern on Saturday regarding the rise in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the Narendra Modi government to focus on taking concrete actions rather than self-praise. Kharge's comments followed an incident where two Army personnel were killed, and six others, including two civilians, were injured in a gunfight with terrorists in Anantnag district.

The operation took place at an altitude of 10,000 feet and continued despite the difficult terrain. In a post on X, Kharge stated, "Two Army soldiers sacrificed their lives and demonstrated their bravery in a joint operation against terrorists in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. Salute to the martyrdom of our brave soldiers. Our deepest condolences to their bereaved families." He also wished for a quick recovery for those injured.
Increase in Terrorist Incidents
Kharge highlighted that the growing number of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir is alarming. He stressed that the national security policy should be more action-oriented. "The national security policy of the Modi government should be to take concrete steps instead of indulging in self-praise," Kharge said.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also expressed her sorrow over the incident. She said, "The news of martyrdom of two brave soldiers while facing terrorists in Anantnag is extremely saddening. May God grant peace to the departed souls. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured."
The ongoing operation to hunt down the terrorists continues despite challenging conditions. The incident has brought attention to the need for effective measures to ensure national security and address the rising threat of terrorism in the region.
The bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers have been widely acknowledged, with calls for more robust actions to prevent such incidents in the future. The focus remains on ensuring safety and security while honouring those who have laid down their lives in service to the nation.
The situation underscores the importance of a proactive approach to national security, prioritising concrete steps over mere rhetoric. The government's response to these incidents will be closely watched as it navigates this critical issue.
As operations continue, there is a collective hope for stability and peace in Jammu and Kashmir. The sacrifices made by the soldiers serve as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in maintaining order and protecting citizens.
The recent events have sparked discussions on how best to address terrorism and enhance security measures effectively. The emphasis is on actionable policies that can bring about tangible improvements in safety and stability.
Ensuring a secure environment for all citizens remains a top priority, with leaders calling for decisive actions to counteract terrorist threats. The commitment to national security is evident as efforts continue to safeguard the region from further violence.
The bravery displayed by the soldiers in Anantnag has been met with widespread respect and admiration. Their dedication highlights the ongoing efforts required to combat terrorism and protect national interests.
The call for concrete steps reflects a broader demand for effective strategies that can address security concerns comprehensively. As discussions progress, there is an expectation for meaningful changes that can enhance safety and prevent future incidents.
