India's fastest train to be flagged off soon; completes final test run in record time
New Delhi, June 4: India can finally boast of a super fast train with supersonic calliber as Gatimaan Express completes a trial run in a record time. This is going to be the first semi-high speed train service between Delhi and Agra.
In the trial run the train covered a historic 195 kilometers in 115 minutes, covering a speed of 160 kilometer per hour.

With 5,400 HP electric locomotive and 12 modern coaches, the train arrived 10 minutes late as it was supposed to cover the distance in 105 minutes.
Confirming the reports was Bhupinder Dhillon, public relations officer for divisional railway manager (DRM), Agra, who said,"It was the last trial run of Gatimaan Express, which was conducted by the maintenance department of Northern Railway. So, now we can expect the train to be flagged off soon."
The running schedule and the fare has already been decided. It would 25% more than Shatabdi express. The Ooe-way fare of the air-conditioned chair car has been fixed at Rs 690. The executive class fare will be Rs 1,365.
The scheduled departure time of the train would be 8 am from New Delhi and arrival at Agra would be 9.45 am. ON the round trip, the train will be scheduled to start from Agra at 5.30 pm and reach Delhi at 7.15 pm. The train will travel without any stoppages.
A senior official said,"The clearance from CRS is expected any time and we are gearing up to launch the train. Plans are afoot to have the PM flag off the train in the second week of this month."
