Himanta Biswa Sarma Says Rahul Gandhi Is Using A 'Body Double' During Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi could be employing a "body double" for the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Sarma referred to a news portal that raised questions about whether Rahul Gandhi was utilizing a doppelganger during the journey from Manipur to Maharashtra.

Talking to the media Assam CM said, "Rahul Gandhi has been using a body double on his bus journeys. This means that the person sitting at the front of the bus and looking at people probably is not Rahul Gandhi at all."

Citing information from Congress sources, Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that the bus employed by Rahul Gandhi during the tour is equipped with multiple rooms. According to Assam CM, the Congress leader frequently occupied these spaces with a small group of people, while a lookalike of Rahul Gandhi would be the one acknowledged by onlookers outside the bus.

"You people (media) think that you're clicking Rahul Gandhi's photos, but in reality, it is his body double," Sarma told the media.

It is not the firt time that Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing attack against Congress MP. Earlier, he had ordered authorities to lodge an FIR against Rahul Gandhi and his allies for inciting violence. The Assam government also alleged that Congress did not follow the approved route which resulted in heavy traffic jams impacting thousands of lives. Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra aims to cover India from east to west through 14 states in two months time and woo the voters to support the grand old party and vote against the Narendra Modi government.
