Gujarat Weather Alert: Hailstorms Hit Saurashtra, IMD Predicts Rain in 20+ Districts

Gujarat rains: A major shift in weather has been observed across Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, over the past two days. Isolated regions have experienced intermittent rain showers, while cloudy skies and gusty winds have helped bring down the soaring temperatures.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is expected today (Tuesday) in Banaskantha and Kutch districts. Additionally, light rain accompanied by wind speeds reaching 40 to 60 kmph is likely in Ahmedabad and other parts of the state.

On May 6 (today), an orange alert has been issued for Kutch and Banaskantha, while a yellow alert is in place for Morbi, Surendranagar, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Anand, Bharuch, and Narmada.

For May 7, a yellow warning is again in effect for Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Sabarkantha, and Surendranagar.

On May 8, a yellow alert has been issued for Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Anand, Amreli, and Bhavnagar, with the potential for heavy rainfall.

According to forecasts, the likelihood of rain is at 63% for Tuesday, increasing to 70% on Wednesday, and dropping to approximately 40 to 45% for the subsequent days.

According to reports, strong circulation has developed over Rajasthan and Gujarat. More rains over these areas for next few days.

The IMD forecast indicates rainy weather conditions across multiple districts, including Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Surendranagar, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Kutch, Rajkot, and Morbi.

Saurashtra is experiencing unstable weather conditions, with heavy rain reported in Botad district and a hailstorm hitting Moti Vavdi village in Ranpur taluka.

People in these regions are advised to remain cautious, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as unstable weather conditions may persist throughout the day.
