Gorakhpur hospital tragedy: BRD medical college clerk arrested
The additional sessions Judge Shivanand Singh had issued non-bailable warrant against seven of the nine people named in the FIR.
Police arrested Baba Raghav Das (BRD) medical college clerk on Saturday in connection with the death of 30 children at the hospital on August 10 and 11.
The arrested clerk, Sudhir Pandey, was named in the FIR by the Uttar Pradesh government. This is the fourth arrest made by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force.
The additional sessions Judge Shivanand Singh had issued non-bailable warrant against seven of the nine people named in the FIR. The warrants were issued against Dr Kafeel Khan, anaesthetist Dr Satish, pharmacist Gajanan Jaiswal, accountant Sudhir Pandey, assistant clerk Sanjay Kumar Tripathi and gas suppliers Uday Pratap Singh and Manish Bhandari.
Dr Kafeel Khan, who was the nodal officer of the 100-bed AES ward at the BRD Medical College, was arrested from Gorakhpur who was removed from his post.
Dr Rajiv Kumar Mishra, suspended principal of BRD Medical College, and his wife Dr Purnima Shukla were arretsed by the arrested from Saketnagar locality of Kanpur last month. Dr Mishra, prime accused in the case has been sent to a 14-day judicial custody. Along with Mishra, his wife, also a doctor with the hospital, was also remanded in judicial custody by the Gorakhpur court.
