Even Hitler cannot defeat power of people, says Sharad Yadav

A day-long convention is being perceived as a protest against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's decision to form a government with the BJP.

Even Hitler cannot defeat if people of India stood up against evil forces, said rebel Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav on Thursday in 'Sanjhi Virasat Bachao' (save composite culture) programme attended by 17 opposition parties in Delhi's Constitution Club.

Following Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's Sharad Yadav said: ''When people of 'Hindustan' and the world come together even Hitler cannot defeat the united forces.''

''People were worried that I would commit a mistake,'' he said. What he meant was people thought he would follow Nitish Kumar's decision of forming the coalition government with the BJP after parting ways with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

A day-long convention is being perceived as a protest against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's decision to form a government with the BJP.

However, leaders of JD (United) said that Sharad Yadav's programme reeks of hypocrisy. JD(U) leader Ajay Alok said, "It feels weird to see that Sharad Yadav's ethics have taken a 180-degree turn. 30 years ago, he arranged the same meeting against the Congress. Now he is aligning with the Congress for the same meeting."

Echoing his fellow JD(U) leader's view, K.C. Tyagi said the party remains unaffected by the meeting, reports ANI.

Sharad Yadav has stayed away from the party activities since Nitish Kumar formed an alliance with the BJP. Later, he did not hide his displeasure about breaking alliance with the RJD calling it "betrayal of the people's mandate".

Subsequently, the party named RCP Singh as the new parliamentary leader replacing Yadav in the wake of 'anti-party' activities. However, JD (U) president Vashishtha Narayan said that Sharad Yadav was not removed from the party, but, replaced with RCP Singh. Days after 21 Sharad Yadav loyalists were suspended from primary memberships for allegedly involving in anti-party activities.
